Being Overwhelmed

“Being Overwhelmed”
Phil. 4:8-9

We live in an increasingly overstimulated society. Our attention spans have become so short, that if we can’t get the information in 15 seconds or less, we typically move on. This has deleterious effects on society. What I have seen in young people, and increasing strongly in all ages, is being overwhelmed when a lot gets “thrown at them.” Anxiety is absolutely through the roof right now, even though our Paul commanded, “Be anxious for nothing” (Phil. 4:6). The Lord  Himself said, “Do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on” (Matt. 6:25). What should you do when you have the feeling of being overwhelmed? Paul gave that answer as well, shortly after he gave the command to be anxious for nothing. “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things” (Phil. 4:8). There is excellence, and there are things worthy of praise. Therefore, dwell on truth, honor, justice, purity, loveliness, and good reputation. I love you all.
