Being Tired

Hebrews 10:25
Here is a fact, we all get tired. Not just tired, but exhausted, exasperated, fatigued, irritated, overworked, finished, beat up, burned out, consumed, weary, spent, or as my dad always said growing up, “Son, I’m just worn slap out.” At times, I feel that way. I want to say, “Family, I’m just worn slap out.” And when I am worn out, that’s when I need you even more. Being tired is not bad, it is human (John 4:6; Mark 4:38-40). People think the answer to being tired is staying away, but nothing could be further from the truth. When I’m worn out, I need the church, especially assembling together, even more. When I was teaching full time and working 80+ hours a week, it was hard to get up and get going on Sunday morning, or staying awake Wednesday afternoon’s so I wouldn’t sleep through mid-week bible study. Each and every time I forced myself to go to worship, I was thankful. It was worth it to assemble with the saints and reinvigorate my inner man. “… not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” (Heb. 10:25) We need that encouragement more than ever when we’re fatigued. Another fact we need to consider, the older we get the more tired we will become. “Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.” (2 Cor. 4:16) “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matt. 11:28-30) I love you all!
In His service,
