Don't be fooled... The Kingdom has already come.

The Kingdom Part 1
Col. 1:13-14

Many today are waiting for the Lord to come back and set up a physical kingdom in Jerusalem, but have failed to see the other writings about the Kingdom found in the bible. To deny that the Kingdom is here, is to deny clear evidence to the fact. “For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Col. 1:13-14 NASB) It is clear that in the first century, people were already being added, or transferred, to the kingdom of Jesus Christ. The most commonly used arguments to support a physical future kingdom, and a physical 1,000 year reign of Jesus comes from Rev. 20:1-6. One should be careful when studying and taking literally apocalyptic literature, furthermore, to do so is to ignore what was already plainly stated about the Kingdom earlier in the book of Revelation. Rev. 1:6 “and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father — to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Rev. 5:10 “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.” Rev. 5:13b “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.” Jesus is currently sitting and reigning over his Kingdom (Heb. 8:1-2). To teach that Rev. 20 means that the kingdom has not yet come, and we are waiting for a future kingdom not only violates all of the verses mentioned above, but it violates the very first verse of Revelation. “The Revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place;” (Rev. 1:1 emp. added). Do not be fooled, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ is already upon the earth. Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” (John 18:36) Stay tuned for future posts about the Lord’s Kingdom. I love you all!

In His service,
Steven Hugley
