Explaining God More Accurately

Acts 18:24-28
Last week I spoke about how some people just twist the scriptures. There are people out there who disregard or change scripture to fit what they need. There are others there who just need more explanation. They might even be religious leaders in their own way, but are not correct about all of their beliefs. I think about Apollos. He obviously believed in God and taught correctly what he knew, the problem was he didn’t know everything he needed to know. Not only did he believe in God, Luke, through inspiration of the Holy Spirit, says he was an “eloquent man” “mighty in the Scriptures” “fervent in the spirit,” and “teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, being acquainted only with the baptism of John” (Acts 18:34-35). He was a good person, but he was not right. He was teaching accurately the things concerning Jesus, but he wasn’t correct about everything. Shortly after, Aquila and Priscilla pulled him to the side and “explained to him the way of God more accurately.” There are good people out there who need this same treatment. They need to be pulled aside and explained the way of God more accurately. I will also add, that the difference between Apollos and everyone else is the fact we have the fully revealed word of God and Apollos did not (Jude 3). Go teach God believing people the way of God more accurately. I love you all!
