“Fruit Inspection”
Luke 6:41-45

There is a great deal of debate on “what is judgment.” I’ve talked about Matt. 7:1-5 a great deal in the past. However, I would encourage you to read Luke’s account of the same words of Jesus. Luke 6 is Luke’s account of the sermon on the mount. While it’s much more concise, it contains much of the same information. Take a few seconds and read in your Bible Luke 6:41-45. Luke’s recording of Jesus’ words have two different types of judgments back to back. Verses 41-42 contain the hypocritical judgment that we must be careful of, and verses 43-44 contain the righteous judgments in which we must partake. You will know a good teacher from a false teacher by their fruits. We must inspect the fruit of others, especially of those who teach the Word. The corresponding section in Matthew’s account would include teaching about false prophets. The same judgments are expected of us today. “But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil” (1 Thess. 5:21-22). Fruit inspection, or righteous judgments (John 7:24), are a requirement for the christian. I love you all!
