“God Knows What You Need”
Luke 11:1-13

We have heard Rom. 8:28 a good bit, and it is true. All things do work out for good to those who love the Lord. When we pray, we think we know what is good, but we don’t have the eternal view God has. We are trapped in a three dimensional world while God looks at all things all the time. We are told to take action in our prayers, “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened” (Luke 11:9-10). It is not a mistake that Jesus uses three action verbs in that description: ask, seek, and knock. He then goes on to give the analogy of a father providing a fish or an egg for his son. The earthly father will provide good things for his children. How much more will our heavenly father provide the same? “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” (Luke 11:13). God knows what we need. Let’s be sure to “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thess. 5:16-18). I love you all!
