How do You See God?

John 1:18
It is a true statement that no one has seen God. John 1:18 and 1 John 4:12 tell us no one has seen God but the inspired apostle alludes to the fact that God has still revealed himself in a way that we can see him without looking on his face. For if we look upon his face we will not live to tell about it. (Ex. 33:20) First, people can see God through us and we can see God in each other as long as we have love for one another. The book of 1 John constantly talks about the love of the brethren and that love being perfect is God shining through us (1 John 4:12). Next, we can see God through his creation. God has left behind so much evidence of his love for us through the world given to us (Gen. 1:26-31). He also left behind much evidence to his splendor and majesty (Psalm 19:1) and we can see Him through His creation (Rom. 1:20). Lastly, God has revealed himself through his Son (John 1:1-4; 1:14, Col. 1:15). When Jesus was revealed to man, he was the image of the Godhead on the earth (1 John 5:20). He and He alone has seen the Father (John 6:46). Jesus was there in the foundation of the world, but has appeared during these last days so that we might see the radiance of God and understand Him better (Heb. 1:1-4). God Gave us scripture so that we can read about the miracles and signs Jesus performed on the earth to show the world that he was the Son of God (John 20:30-31). So when God tells us “Listen to Him” (Matt. 17:5) we need to heed that and know that the Almighty Father, his Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit know what’s best for us. We need to keep his commandments in obedience, so that we might save ourselves from this generation. I love you all deeply.

In His service,
