“How to Achieve Unity”
1 Cor. 1:10

“Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose” (Phil. 2:2). “Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity” (Col. 3:14). “Being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Eph. 4:3). “Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13). “Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Cor. 1:10). It was the Lord’s earnest desire that His believers be united, “The glory which you have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfect in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me” (John 17:22-23). But as we can see easily in the scriptures, there is only one way to achieve unity, and that is through the Scriptures. “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” Paul said they were to have no divisions but be made complete in the “same mind and in the same judgment.” Jesus said we will be judged by His words, “He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day” (John 12:48). We must be in Him and His Words to enjoy this perfect unity. The admonishments, commands, and even pleading for unity is replete through the Scriptures. The way to achieve unity is through God’s word. The diligent study and practice of the Holy Word. I love you all!

In His service,
Steven Hugley
