“Knowledge”
Hosea 4:6

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” Most people remember Hosea as the prophet who was required to take a wife of harlotry. I would encourage you to focus on why. The Lord was telling Hosea, what Gomer has done to you, Israel has done to me. They did it because they lacked knowledge. We are no longer physical Israel. However, we are spiritual Israel (Gal. 3:26-29; Rom. 2:28-29). We are no longer the physical Levitical priesthood. Rather, we are the New Testament priesthood (1 Peter 2:9; Rev. 1:6). I implore you. Do not be destroyed for a lack of knowledge. Study the Bible. If you don’t know how, ask! An extremely devoted proselyte was asked, “Do you understand what you are reading.” His answer was, “Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?” (Acts 8:30-31). It is not embarrassing to ask for help. However, there is coming a day, when you will be judged (Acts 17:30-31). What would be more embarrassing? To look at a friend and ask, “Would you study the Bible with me?” Or looking at God and saying, “But I didn’t know.” God’s wrath will be delivered upon those who “Do not know God and do not obey the Gospel (2 Thess. 2:7-9). You may believe in Jesus and try to live a good life. That’s not enough. You must know his word and obey it (Matt. 7:21-23; John 14:15; Heb. 5:9). Please, don’t be destroyed for a lack of knowledge. Reach out. I love you all!
