Living in Light of the Cross

Hebrews 10:19-22

Rom. 5:6 tells us of the great gift that has been given on our behalf. “For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.” This sentiment is reiterated in vs. 8 & 10. Outside of Christ, there is not hope and without his blood we would be helpless. Heb. 10:19-22 tells us we can have confidence, that we can draw near to God and that we can be made clean. All of this is possible because of the “blood of Jesus.” 1 John 1:7 tells us that if we, Christians, walk in the light his blood cleanses us. The connecting theme here over and over is the blood of Christ. The light we are supposed to walk in was made possible because of the shadow of the cross of calvary. I challenge you this week to walk in the light of the cross and to study the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior. Then remember, that’s what we deserved. We have to carry our cross just as Jesus did and be willing to crucify our own wants and desires for his cause (Luke14:27). What will you do to live in the light of the cross? I love you all!
