The Greatest Compliment

“The Greatest Compliment”
Acts 5:28

What is the greatest compliment you have ever received? When talking with someone this morning about our beloved Ms. Mary Turner, I heard a good compliment. “She’s not someone you’d want to have a bible debate with. And if you do, you better have one of these with you (while pointing at his Bible).” What are some of the greatest compliments in the Bible? The Sanhedrin had this to say about the Apostles’ preaching of Jesus, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching…” (Acts 5:28). Concerning Paul and Silas, the Jews of Thessalonica said “These men who have upset the world have come here also” (Acts 17:6). “These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God” (Gen. 6:9). ‘The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil’” (Job. 1:8). What would your enemies say about you? That you have filled your city or even the whole world with the teaching of Christianity? Better yet, what would God say about you? The greatest compliment that anyone could hope for is that of blamelessness before God. Fortunately, we have Jesus who died as a propitiation for us (1 John 2:1-3). I love you all!
