The Lord Knows You

“The Lord Knows You”
Psalm 139:23-24

"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way" (Psalm 139:23-24). David’s request of God is incredible in these verses, but it's even more awe-inspiring when we consider the entire context of Psalm 139.

David begins by acknowledging that the Lord had already searched and known him. The Lord was familiar with every aspect of David’s life. David says God was “intimately acquainted with all my ways” (Psalm 139:3).

In the next section of the Psalm, David emphasizes that there is no "hiding" from God. Wherever one goes, God is present and fully aware. David says, "Even if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me" (Psalm 139:9-10).

These words were a source of comfort to David, and they should also bring comfort to every Christian. However, for the disobedient, they serve as a warning—there is no "hiding from God." He sees everything at all times. For the faithful, this means we can find peace wherever we go. For the unfaithful or disobedient sinner, it means God will never be deceived. Take comfort in knowing that God is always present with you.

I love you all!
