The Next Generation

“The Next Generation”
Judges 2:10

“Kids these days…” How many times have you heard that? How many times have you said that? The older I get, the more I say it, however, what am I doing about it? While chia pets, tamagotchis, Nintendos (the original), and phrases like “Not the Mama” were fun, is that what defined my childhood? Furthermore, what happened, or didn’t happen, in my childhood that needs correcting or repeating? “All that generations also were gathered to their fathers; and there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord, nor yet the work which He had done for Israel” (Judges 2:10). My generation will be “gathered to their fathers.” We will die. Will the next generation know the Lord? Will they know what the Lord has done for them through the lives of the previous generations? Will they know His word? Israel, God’s chosen people of the Old Testament, fell away in one generation. One generation stood between them and total idolatry. One generation stood between righteousness and, “Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Balls, and they forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers” (Judges 2:11-12). The church is today’s Israel (Gal. 3:26-29; 6:16). It is up to the entire church, to make sure the next generation knows. I love you all!
