“Thought Worm”
Col. 3:4

You know that catchy new song you can’t get out of your head? That’s typically referred to as an “ear worm.” Have you ever had a “thought worm?” When you get a new concept in your brain you can’t get out? “When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory” (Col. 3:4). “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Gal. 2:20). “But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Gal. 6:14). ‘Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it”’ (Matt. 16:24-25). The connection of all of these concepts has become a thought worm. What does it mean to take up a cross? What does it mean to make Christ our life? And more importantly, can I get to heaven if I do not do these things? Can I be pleasing to God if I’m only a “part time Christian.” Jesus wasn’t a “part time savior.” He didn’t just “kind of” sacrifice himself on my behalf (1 John 2:1-2). No. A full-time savior requires full-time devotion. Make Christ your life. Boast only in Him. Deny worldly desires to which you’ve already been crucified. I love you all!
