“Too Much of the World in the Church”
1 Cor. 6:19-20
    
    When it comes to modesty, the world has invaded. They’ve spewed lies saying that showing more skin is empowering. Men are encouraged to show off their physique and women are encouraged to be scantily clad in order to show “empowerment.” Quick question. When in the scriptures has showing more skin been a good thing? The Scriptures are replete with warnings and examples of how nakedness in public is a bad thing (Is. 47:3; Rev. 16:15; 1 Tim. 2:9; Gen. 9:20-23). Men are told to not even lust after another woman (Matt. 5:28) and women are warned to pay attention to internal adorning and not external (1 Peter 3:3-4). However the paganistic cry of “my body, my choice” has breeched the church when concerning modesty. I’ve been told personally, “How dare you tell someone what to do with their body.” Christian, your body is not your own. When admonishing the church in Corinth concerning sexual sin, Paul stated, “Or do you not know that your boy is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body” (1 Cor. 6:19-20). Yet, the world has convinced our young people that it is okay to run about with little more than underwear covering themselves. Do not be a stumbling block for your fellow brothers and sisters (Rom. 14:13-23) and honor God, not self, with your body. I love you all!
