“What to do When We Disagree”
Acts 17:11

The past few weeks I have had a very difficult time keeping a promise to myself. Not arguing with people on social media. Specifically, when they are lying about what Scripture says or teaches.I am in no way shape or form saying that sin can and should be tolerated. However, I think the days of changing people’s hearts and minds through arguing on social media are days gone past. One thing that I have noticed, is the lying that I have seen, has been by individuals who have absolutely zero interest in what the Scriptures actually teach. They just think they can club Christians into false doctrine by saying, “Well doesn’t the Bible say …” without any knowledge of the context or content knowledge as a whole. I think about the Bereans. Why were they noble-minded? Because they argued with people until they won? “Now these were more noble-minded … for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see where these things were so” (Acts 17:11). They had an eagerness to learn, and they double checked the new thing they heard. I’m also reminded of John. “Though I have many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak to you face to face, so that your joy may be made full” (2 John 12). The word of God is what is able to change hearts and minds (Heb. 4:12). Trying to get Bible studies set up, and answering Bible questions, with Bible answers is the best hope for becoming united once again (Phil. 2:1-2). I love you all!

In His service,
