When Faith Meets Action

“When Faith Meets Action”
Heb. 11:1

Often when we talk about faith in action, we talk about all of the great heroes listed in Heb. 11. However, there are some exceptional examples of acting faith that aren’t recorded in the “Great Hall of Faith.” When you read the Old Testament, the Messianic Prophecies are amazing, the prophetic utterances about events or people generations later are revelatory, and the plan to bring the Savior of the world into human existence is indescribably miraculous. All of those things happen because men and women of faith put their faith into action. Have you ever considered that David is not mentioned in Hebrews 11. Was he not a man of faith? In Acts 13:22, he is a man after God’s own heart. Furthermore, in 1 Sam. 17, this young ruddy shepherd boy is the only one standing before the 9 foot giant, Goliath. He put his faith into action by standing for God against what every other person considered to be an impossible task. Elijah once said, “I alone am left a prophet of the Lord, but Baal’s prophets are 450 men” (1 Kings 18:22). In that scenario, he was the only one who was willing to put his faith into action. He was completely outmatched, but he did not let that stop him from telling the truth and serving God. When his faith met action, he showed everyone what true religion was. That is our goal. To work our faith when it seems like we are the only one. I love you all!
