When Would You Rather Be Judged?

“When Would You Rather Be Judged?”
Rom. 14:11

Growing up, my family was very much a part of horse and rodeo culture. Nearly every weekend, not during the winter months, we were at a horse show or rodeo. I spent way more time on horseback than riding bulls. However, there was a common phrase we would hear surrounding rodeo, “It’s not if you get hurt, but when and how bad.” That too can be said as far as our eternal judgement. It is not if you get judged, but when and what your eternal state will be. First, people complain about being “judged by Christians.” To many Christian’s determent, they take that as an insult rather than a sign of obedience to the word of God (John 7:24). When we warn a sinner of the error of their ways, it is not because we think we are better, but that we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and we want to share that freedom with them (James 5:19-20). Next, would you rather be “judged” by someone on this Earth, or wait until it is too late in eternity? Hebrews 9:27 tells us we will be judged when we die. In that great judgment scene of Matt 25, there are only two options for how it will end; eternal life or eternal torment. At one point, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess (Rom. 14:11). It can either be in this life and through obedience to God’s word we will be able to enjoy eternal life (Heb. 5:9), or it will be at the end of this life and it’s too late (Luke 16:19-31). Either way, we will all be judged. I love you all!
