“Who Have You Prayed For Today?”
James 5:16

“The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much” (James 5:16). There is much to pray for. “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thess. 5:16-18). We are to live a life of prayer. We are exceedingly blessed, and therefore need to thank God for those blessings. Concerning food, Paul said, “For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer” (1 Tim. 4:2-5). But concerning people, who have you prayed for today? “We out always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged” (2 Thess. 1:3). “We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers” (1 Thess. 1:2). “For God whom I serve in my spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you, always in my prayers making request, if perhaps now at last by the will of God I may succeed in coming to you” (Rom. 1:9-10). I have a challenge for you. Don’t just thank God for the spiritual blessing of being a Christian, for the daily food you are able to partake in, and for being born in a blessed situation. Thank Him for the Christians in your life and pray for them by name. One prayer exercise I like to do is start at one corner of the church building mentally, and pray for everyone as I see their face in my head. Pray for the church, the body of Christ. I love you all!
