Your Only Shot

“Your Only Shot”
Hebrews 9:27-28

This life is the only chance you get. There are many second chance doctrines that exist, but the Scriptures are quite clear. “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.” I’ve heard some pretty cynical people say things like, “This is your only life, do what you wish.” A few years ago, a common phrase was, “YOLO” meaning “you only live once.” This is simply not true. There will be eternity after your life. Jesus was clear in Matt 25:21-46 in the great judgment scene, there will be those on his right and those on his left. There is no in-between. In the account of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31), there was only one of two places: Torment or Abraham’s Bosom. There is no second chance at the rapture, which is a word that is not even mentioned in the Bible. There is no second chance after spending time in purgatory, which again is a word not mentioned in the Bible. This is your only shot. Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15). I pray you’ll use this one opportunity to do so. I love you all!
